Background. Research is crucial to the development of society. The literature on challenges for scientific highlights that chronic stress in researchers can affect their academic production and physical mental health. One hundred eighty records obtained, but only four met criteria qualitative evaluation. Discussion conclusion. Stress present 20% associated with psychological (lack control, emotional fatigue, overload, multi-tasking) institutional variables (evaluation system demands, tenure track, lack recognition). emphasize aspects predispose precipitate do not highlight stressful experience.
